Ingredients
For the Red Velvet Cake:
• 1 cup of milk
• 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
• 1/4 teaspoon of salt
• 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder
• 5 eggs
• 3 cups of granulated sugar
• 1 1/2 cups of unsalted butter, softened
• Red food coloring (as desired)
• 1/2 cup of cocoa powder

• 1 (8 oz.) package of cream cheese
• 1 stick of butter (1/2 cup), softened
• 1 pound of powdered sugar
Instructions
1. **Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Grease and flour in a large tube pan.
2. **In a mixing bowl, cream together the sugar and softened butter until light and fluffy, about 7 minutes using a stand mixer. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
3. **Slowly beat in the cocoa powder, salt, vanilla extract, red food coloring, and baking powder until well combined.
4. **Gradually add half of the sifted flour and 1/2 cup of milk to the mixture. Mix well, then add the remaining flour and milk. Beat until the batter is smooth and fully combined.
5. **Pour the batter into the prepared tube pan and smooth the top.
6. **Bake in the preheated oven for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan before removing.
7. **For the frosting, in a separate mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese, softened butter, and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
