A travel agent was sitting at his desk, the fluorescent lights humming softly as he reviewed his week’s sales. Business had been excellent, and a contented smile settled over him. Just then, he noticed an elderly couple outside, gazing longingly at the colorful posters of tropical beaches and towering mountains in his window.

They looked sweet and gentle, but there was also a hint of longing, a quiet sadness only a kind heart could notice. On a whim, the agent rushed outside. “Listen,” he said warmly, “I’ve had a great week, and I’d love to share it with you. How about a luxury vacation—on me? No strings attached. Just say yes.”
The couple’s faces lit up with joy and disbelief. Tears in their eyes, they accepted. First-class plane tickets and a deluxe five-star room were promptly booked.
A month later, the little old lady returned, glowing with happiness. “The trip was wonderful! The flight, the hotel, everything was perfect. I came to thank you… but I do have one question.”
The agent leaned in. “Yes?”
She whispered, eyes twinkling: “Who was that old man I had to share the room with?”
The agent laughed until he cried. Sometimes, the best stories of kindness come with a perfectly timed punchline.
