Best Homemade Blackberry Jam
Nothing beats the taste of homemade jam — sweet, tangy, and full of fresh blackberries! This recipe is simple, delicious, and perfect for spreading on warm biscuits, toast, or even drizzling over desserts.

Ingredients:
- 4 cups fresh blackberries
- 4 cups granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
Instructions:
Prepare the Blackberries
- Rinse the blackberries well.
- Mash them with a fork or potato masher until chunky or smooth (your choice!).
Cook the Jam
- In a large saucepan, add blackberries, sugar, and lemon juice.
- Stir and bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Reduce heat and simmer 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
Test the Jam
- Place a spoonful on a chilled plate.
- If it wrinkles when pushed, it’s ready! If not, simmer a bit longer.
Sterilize the Jars
- While jam cooks, boil jars and lids for 10 minutes.
- Place on a clean towel to dry.
Fill the Jars
- Carefully ladle hot jam into jars, leaving 1/4 inch of space.
- Wipe rims clean, seal with lids, and screw bands fingertip-tight.
Process the Jars
- Place jars in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes.
- Remove and cool on a towel.
- Check seals — lids shouldn’t pop back when pressed.
Store & Enjoy
- Keep sealed jars in a cool, dark place.
- Refrigerate and use unsealed jars within a few weeks.
